FISCH®-Tools: now supplying ice augers to the Canadian ski team

It’s one success story after the next: only recently did Johann Eberhard GmbH – FISCH®-Tools – conclude a 5-year contract with the “Swiss-Ski” association. Hot on the heels of this news comes the Canadian ski association CSA – Canadian Snowsports Association: with its product ALU SPEED, FISCH-Tools will be the new official ice auger supplier of the Canadian ski team for the next four seasons.

27. November 2018 in Sponsoring

The ultralight ice auger from the Styrian drill factory is conquering one skiing nation after the other. On the 1st November 2018, FISCH-Tools directors Christoph Riegler and Andreas Eberhard and their American dealer, Reliable Racing Supply, together signed an exclusive, multi-year supply agreement with the CSA – Canadian Snowsports Association. The umbrella association represents several organisations, among them Canada Alpin, the Canadian Snowboard Federation, Freestyle Canada and Canadian Para Snowsports.

“We are pleased to have gained a new client with the Canadian ski association, which we can cite as a top reference. Our ice auger made of lightweight aluminium will accompany the Canadian skiing pros such as Erik Guay and Manuel Osborne-Paradis until 2021, ensuring optimum training and competition conditions at the World Cup races”, explain Riegler and Eberhard. David Pym, CEO of the Canadian Snowsports Association, also showed his enthusiasm: “Thanks to the innovative ALU SPEED technology, our trainers and event staff are able to lay out the course for alpine skiing races quickly and with great efficiency. We are very pleased about the agreement with FISCH and will be proud to employ the high-quality products, no matter what ski pistes our teams are on.”

The ALU SPEED ice auger is excellently suited for use in snow, ice and scree and on steep terrain. With the lightweight ice auger, which weighs only 500 grams, drilling for slalom poles can be carried out simply and rapidly, marking out the course for slalom, giant slalom and super-G races. The ice auger is used in alpine ski sports for installing and repositioning slalom poles as well as the installation of safety nets. The US Ski & Snowboard association, the ÖSV (Austrian Ski Association) and the Polish Ski Association already place their trust in the product innovation from Styria. What is more, with the ALU SPEED, this year FISCH-Tools will once again be the exclusive ice auger supplier and sponsor to the professional North American racing series, World Pro Ski Tour.
